    Hi onejohn,
Thanks for the update. I’ve had back from Olivier on the condo fees. He is still saying they should be effective 1st May but not to include any pool fees. As development isn’t complete and people are still waiting for apartments (so who pays their share – tv?) as well as no pool , damp, security doors, mains elec etc I don’t agree. I thought it was all complete and then TV set up a condominium then handed it over to a 3rd party. What do others affected think. I’d prefer to discuss this off forum so do you have an email I can get you on John?
    Thanks,
    Steve

Hi onejohn, yes – please let me know if you hear back a different amount from Camara although we did go there in person and were given info stated above. I’d thought it was 3% of 75% which is a lot more than 673 euro – but agree that is still a lot (for what you actually get from it).
Also agree re what tv should do prior to us paying condo fees – have responded to their letter but no reply yet
    Cheers

    Hi,
Just back from our last visit. Great time although it did rain surprisingly in April twice (and really rain!!)

There wasn’t much activity in block although people were working on it in some apartments (under yours Jean). They have painted labels within C so you know which your apartment is now!

Nothing on the pool. It was dug up and nothing happened on it in 2 weeks. We asked Olivier and he said a specialist was coming but had no dates for a fix. Worrying as just recieved letter about them handing admin over now – not sure how that can happen with pool repairs required – who are they expecting to pay for them if tv hand over (and they’re still working on many apartments)? The block communal area was unusable and not cleaned/maintained whislt we were there.

    onejohn,
We saw the Camara, good news is tax is less. we were told 673 euro for the year which you can pay in 2 instalments. As we only got deeds last summer ours isn’t due until April 2013

Thanks for info onejohn, hopefully it wil come down! We completed after April last year but won’t likely be across again before October so may need to pay it this visit (or leave till April after – we’ll probably check whilst out). If get update on revised rates will let you know.

Thanks Jean also for your further updates, shame we won’t have a pool this time but the sea isn’t far away!

People who’ve taken tv’s over (as we got a discount as that was missing) – do they need to be analogue. Thought about taking a LCD one over but non-digital ones hard to get hold of now!!

    Hi all,
I’m hoping to get out with family again next Wednesday. Will check up on progress as it was a year since we last went but doesn’t sound like be using pool in our block!
John, the IUP you mention – is that the same as annual tax, which I thought was 3% of 25% f property value per year paid in April (or 2 instalments April and October)? We completed last summer so I think will need to pay it this time?
Does anyone know how to go about this – where you do it, if you need any documentation to prove ownership/property value etc?

    Hi all,
I got 1 more pic on of me (in nice pink shirt) on my balcony. I think the problem is pics are too high res and have too much memory as ones over 2000kb don’t seem go on so if anyone wants them may have to email unless it’s easy to reduce res/size of files and someone tells me how
    Cheers,

    Cheers,

    Hi one john,
We spoke to someone who had a place in Vila Verde and he said annual charge was only around 170 euro I think (not sure it thats council tax but it was something like rates so assume is same thing?) I thought it was 3% of 25% of value so more like figure you’d said (sure he won’t have declared so low to make that 170 so maybe I got it wrong)

Chez, Sorry I didn’t actually go in Block D but there were quite a few workers around and they were going in there. From what I understood thought they’d moved people from E/D into C to fill it up and get it handed over to condo.

Garren – I took photos of inside of our apartment if you want to see finished look. Also pics of the pool area in C. Let me know where to send them if you want them

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi one john,

Yes, snagging went fine and we have made final payment now (less deduction as they didn’t get TV/microwave/safe which we were happier with anyway). We like the apartment and are happy with finishing/furniture thats in it. Few things missing we need to progress. Haven’t done deeds yet but solicitor has POA so will do that for us (in few weeks now as Christiane away on hols)

The place looks good. Pool was full although not convinced if it wasn’t leaking still as they had a hose running too it sometimes. We swam in it and was fine although as builders still there it isnt getting cleaned regularly as should be and pool area needed sweeping – think that will be fine when it’s taken over by management company and done regularly (also should be sunbeds then too)

There’s lots of work going on which is encouraging on roads etc – in front of our place and in town. Be great when done but at moment there’s standing water in the roadworks so get some flies.

Enjoyed hol, saw some people form last time we went (which was August 2008) who’d moved out then and then were enjoying it. Also met others who’d got places in various developments – which was good as they had kids for ours to play with (who spoke same language) – as whilst happy in Crioula it was difficult for kids to play with others as mostly italina speaking.

Main problem I thought was the dogs. Not too bad yet but think it will get worse if they increase numbers and there isn’t enough food for them. Think there’s been some neutering apparently but they need to continue with that.

If you want more detail email me – not sure can put email on here but Jean has my email if you have hers and can get mine from her – put djadsal in title so will know to pick it up

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Thanks for the info Stubby.

All, I just heard back from TV and they said they should be filling the pool up in Block C so hopefully we can check that whilst out there. The pump apparently still hasn’t arrived from Italy!

I’ll take some pics on progress so let me know if anyone wants see them.

Looking forward to break in the sun and finally getting the place!!

    Hi John,

Thanks for the info – fortunately we are on top floor (next door to Jean) although damp is still a concern when (?) we jointly take responsibility for communal areas / bottom af steps etc

    Thanks,

    Hi,

We’re going over to snag our apartment in Blcok C on 19th April – finally!!

It’s been a while since last went (summer 2008 when we thought we’d be staying in apartment then!!!)

Does anyone know if you can take your cash cards and use them to get cash out from cash machines in CV and if there are many ATMs around?

Hi Mac, Thanks for posting the video of Block C. Could I just ask – the furnishing – particularly TV/microwave – did you get those yourself or were they included in furniture pack as we’ve been told we haven’t got those?
    Thanks,
    Steve

    Hi,

Now we are (possibly) getting closer to completion. Does anyone know process for getting water/electricity connected and the costs involved?

    Cheers,
    Steve
