More flights to Sal and Boa Vista this winter season

27 November 2012

Cape Verde’s international airports are expected to see an increase in the number of charter flights throughout the winter season. Between November and March, a number of new airlines will begin operating direct flights from various different European cities. All told, 78 charter flights will operate every week to the islands of Sal and Boa Vista.

Amílcar Cabral International Airport on the Island of Sal has already begun receiving flights from three new companies – Thomas Cook Belgium flies to the Island from Brussels, Condor from Frankfurt, Germany and Transavia from Amsterdam, in the Netherlands.

All told, 47 charter flights are landing on Sal every week, bringing tourists from Malpensa, Verona, Bologna and Rome (Italy), Las Palmas (Spain), Copenhagen (Denmark), Manchester (United Kingdom), Gotenburg (Sweden) Prague (Czech Republic) and Lisbon (Portugal). The flights are operated by Neos Spa, Jet Air Belgium, Tui Fly Germany, Tui Nordic, Thomson Airways, Travel Service and TAP Portugal.

Three airlines are scheduled to begin operations at Aristides Pereira International Airport on the Island of Boa Vista this month – Tui Fly Nordic, which will fly from Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Helsinki, while Thomas Cook will fly from Brussels and Condor will operate flights from Frankfurt.

These new companies will join those already offering flights to Cape Verde – Tui Fly (flying from Basel, Hamburg and Las Palmas), XL Airways (Paris), Thomason Airways (Manchester, London Gatwick, Birmingham and Glasgow), Luxair (Luxembourg), Arkefly (Amsterdam), NEOS (Malpensa, Verona, Bologna and Fiumcino), Jetair Fly (Brussels), Transavia (Paris), SATA Internacional (Lisbon) and TACV Cabo Verde Airlines (Lisbon).
