To enter Cape Verde you must pay the airport security tax TSA (Taxa de Segurança Aeroportuária/Airport Security Tax) of 3,400 CVE / (about £26) and complete the corresponding registration.
Exempt are children under 2, holders of a Cape Verdean passport along with their spouse and children under 18, and anyone holding a residence permit (Autorizaçao de Residencia) for the Cape Verde islands.
Register at least 5 days before you travel on the government website www.ease.gov.cv to pay the TSA airport tax.

For the registration you will need to provide the following details:
identity, travel dates, contact details and the first hotel of your trip.
At the end of the online form you then pay the fee by credit card.
The online form is available in English, French and Portuguese.
Every traveller must complete an individual form and pay the TSA individually.
⚠️ You need a passport that is valid for at least a further 6 months on the date you enter the country.

Can I register and pay the TSA airport tax on arrival at the airport?
Yes, you can register and pay on arrival at the airport, but you should expect very long queues, so it is not recommended.
In that case you should also carry enough cash (euros) in case payment by debit or credit card does not work.
You will, however, have to complete the TSA registration and payment at the airport on arrival if you forgot to register online, or if you booked too late (less than 5 days before entry) and can therefore no longer register online.
TSA airport tax on package and organised trips
If you have booked a package holiday, individual round trip or hiking tour through a tour operator, the TSA airport fees are often already included in the price. Please check this in advance so you do not end up paying twice.
