    One To You

You are getting a bore. When I see your name as last poster I cannot even be bothered to open up the subject any more. Why dont you find another forum. You did not even answer about what your interest in CV was. Why dont you go and comment on the Azores instead or better still Timbuctoo

You can buy virtually everything you need in Sao Vicente, furniture and electricals although there will not be a great deal of choice for furniture. Prices are about same as UK

It looks as though someone has been working on TACV’s website as it is nearly ready – just missing the flight timetable !

    Hi Rusty,

No I am sorry I had a look at the paperwork and the name of the shipping company was not on there but I will try and see if my friend can remember the name and let you know if she does. You could just do a search on shipping companies in Lisbin (there is a Lisbon yellow pages in English on the Internet) and then ask them for a quote for say 2 beds, a wardrobe etc – a lot of big furniture store web sites give dimensions and weight as an example.

By the way Rusty I wouldnt want you hanging up any pictures on my wall.Where did you get that name from ?

I think everyone should boycott Thompson with the prices they are charging as they know they have a monopoly. I would have been going to CV next month but will not be now at those prices.

I found Intasure very fast and efficient too – highly unusual in this day and age.

I think Holiday Options are advertising them already as in July the flights are advertised as leaving at 12.45. They are about £500 though (I checked out about 4 different dates) !

I am not sure Option Trader why you say that you are not affected by the weakening pound if you get a Euro mortgage as you have still got to purchase the Euros from sterling to pay your mortgage ? Unless of course you have got some income coming in in Euros.

I too obviosuly hope everyone manages to ride this out.

I dont understand Daniel’s comments either. I emailed BCA but no reply. They have a website but no information on that. I have read various bits on information on this ; all different . There is a Ministry of Finance website but no English translation . Does anyone have Promex’s email address – they will probably have this information ?

    Hi Daniel,

Would you mind confirming to us all whether we can transfer money from CV to UK and if there any restrictions.

    Many thanks

Yes it is cheaper – a few months ago it was CVE18500 (Euro168) Sal-Sao Vicente- Sal. But if you wait until you get to Sal the flights could be fully booked on the day you wish to travel.

The TACV website you mentioned that says under construction is under .com and looks as though it will be a good website when it works. Try the flags in the corner to get English.
