basically you need a free phone. otherwise you have to ask your operator in the UK to unlock it for you, so that it can be used with SIM cards from other operators.

    hope was able to help

I suggest Pedracin village in Ribeira Grande.
Best Lodging hotel in Santo Antao.
Sant Antao Resort is very nice but is located in the south coast

Currently 3% of the energy produced in Capeverde is from eolic sources. The world bank has financed a project to increase this to 15% of total production.
Lets hope it is quickly implemented.

    Hi Juvenal,

The chambers of commerce are a good source of importers of spirits.
Calu & Angela, Salyte, JBC, MGA are a few big importers that you could probably contact. Numbers and e-mails are not allowed in this site.

Euro would be the best currency to bring due to fixed peg to the Capeverdean escudo. Travellers cheques exchanged at all banks.
    have a nice trip

    Hi newmarket,

A bit of a contradiction, because SAL is the best place for bodyboarding yet the biggest construction site in CV.
I sugggest Boavista as a good spot for bodyboarding and quitness and São Vicente as a good spot for bodyboarding but also a lively port town as well.
    Choose your pick

Very little options for expat jobs in SAL. English tutoring could be a possibility. The best options for expats currently are to start your own business. Santa Maria is in need of all types of services.

I suggest you visit Anjos Mundilar, Calu & Angela and Bras de Andrade. None of them sell chinese furniture and each have a couple of thousand of square meters of furniture exposition. Please give us your personal opinion after the visits. I wonder if some of the people that have given information on this forum have really visited any of these places. As for pricing dont forget to add on top of the prices you buy in Europe around 100% tax between customs and V.A.T. that you will be charged when importing any furniture in to Cape Verde.

I would suggest a visit to Anjos Mundilar in Plateau next to Fenicia Supermarket. You will find an furniture expo center with 2500 m2 and a wide selection of furniture from Spain, Portugal and Brazil to choose from.

It might be easier to buy a brand new car in Praia.
There are dealerships for the following brands:

VW, AUDI, SKODA, MITSUBISHI, TOYOTA, FORD, DAIHATSU, ISUZU AND a couple of CHINESE Brands.

    Canty,

I havent heard about the NATO base. It is probably unlikely to happen in the very near future. There is a process of intense cooperation with NATO after the NRF exercises took place in CV. NATO and Cape Verde are currently looking at diferent possible cenarios of cooperation, but so far nothing specific has been released to the public.

The Profile Corporate Group from Dubai has made a public presentation of the Master Plan of Cesaria Resort that will be located in Praia Grande and will ocupy 1400 Hectares. I was at the public presentation at the Hotel Praia-Mar and became quite impressed. They are proposing to invest 2.5 billion Euros in the next 10 years.

The Ernie Els Golf courses will be located in Calheta Bay Resort(SAL) and Baia das Gatas Resort (S.Vicente).

    Cheers

Nikki Village owned by Miami Multi-Milionaire Jack Penrod will be inside the Calheta Bay Resort along with 2 golf courses with Ernie Els signature. This is supposed to be a mega project south of Murdeira Beach Resort, soon to be released to the media and press.

    Hi Marcuz,

Capeverdean culture resulted from mixed cultures and capeverdeans have emigrated to many diferent countries since the 1800’s. As such we welcome visitors to our country. I see this as an oportunity for the development of the local economy, more jobs and opportunities for the young generation.
