Is there anything worth taking to give to local kids/schools/charities whilst out in cv? Needs to be simple and not weigh a lot.

    give them money Peter!

alternatively, and in the long run more useful, give them your time and expert knowledge.

teach them how to get out of poverty. kick of some sort of training project, college, light industry or service company.

really, taking a few games is more about making you feel good about yourself rather than any lasting benefit to the cv people. IMO.

could someone show me how to get out of poverty andhundreds of others.after getting into this mess ,thanks to mri and Tecicnil . 40k mortage and nothing to show for it, while the Gov,FSA ,SFO do s…all to help.

Turtle SOS is happy to announce that during the summer we will partner with Châ Mateus, a group that works with some of the poorest children on the island and Nos Kaza which works with kids with no childcare who would be roaming the streets after school. The summer programme will work with kids aged 6 – 13 and young people aged 14-18 and will consist of a number of activities related to the environment (beach cleaning, making recycled things) and turtles (turtle camp, turtle parade).

If you could bring any materials to support these activities we would be delighted. Any kind of craft materials would be perfect – scissors, tape, glue, coloured paper, paints, paintbrushes etc etc. Also facepaints, elastic and foam are needed to make turtle costumes.

Any donations can be left at the SOS Tartarugas Hatchery on the beach of the RIU hotel (Rangers are there from 10h-12h) or at the SalMine Tourist office which is at the start of Santa Maria village beside the BCA (bank). If that is not convenient please ask your hotel reception to call us on 974 5020 and we will collect.

Thank you so much for your generosity – any donations will be much appreciated!
