Hello forum,
I am a simple young man living in the Netherlands hopelessly in love with a Cape Verdean girl and we are currently dating. Because I would like to surprise her with my interest for her origin and to win her over for myself, I would like to know if someone would take a minute to help me.
This is what I want to do: I want to call her “Honey” or “sweatheart” or something in that direction in creole. This would surely win her heart for me.
Thankyou for your time,
DaEdge
Hello DaEdge,
welcome to the Cape Verde Forum !
In Creole, the best words to express “Honey” or “Sweatheart” would be “Nha Cretcheu”.
Hope this helps 🙂
Ah thankyou very much!
Guess I will start working on pronounciation.
Thanx again!
Hello again,
sorry, forgot to say: the word “Nha” means in English “my” and is to pronunciate as this: “Nia”
Besides “Nha Cretcheu” – also you can say “Nha amor”.
Both would mean “My love” 😉
