    Dear Sir / Madam,

I am currently in the second year of my undergraduate degree in Construction Project Management at the University College London. After completing my second year, I have the opportunity to take a year out to acquire work experience. The aim of the placement is to introduce us to the processes taking place within the construction industry, both from the managerial as well as the technical perspective.

Cape Verde has caught my attention after spending a week in Santa Maria. Just a couple of hours from home, I found a virgin island with optimal weather; a beautiful beach & sea and most importantly warm and welcoming people.

I truly believe that in the years to come, Cape Verde will become a first class tourist destination. There are major opportunities to develop the area, while maintaining its unique character. Sustainable development is vital and harmony between the environmental, economic and social aspect is fundamental. I am not only considering Cape Verde as a great place to work and live, but to invest in as well. My aim is to get to know the area even more during my potential placement year and hopefully return to the island after completing my degree.

My course is truly multidisciplinary offering modules including Law, Economics, Technology and Project Management. I have acquired valuable work experience while working with a project management company in London and a contractor oversees.

Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

    Sincerely,

    Neil Chacham
