Hi all,

Sorry ive not been about for a bit but the NHS have been playing lucky dip rather precision surgery on my spine.

The Birmingham meeting sure looks like it was a great success,so genuine thanks to all those involved.POWER TO THE PEOPLE !!!

Anyway,as im out to CV in the next couple of weeks to
self furnish/aquire a local package plus sort financial issues etc.
I thought i'd compile a quick TO-DO list and it started to get longer and longer so i thought i'd share it with everyone as others can add to it and hope it may assist others in the future.

1.Ensure Tecnicil know your arriving to collect keys/your place is genuinely ready
(payment of Condo fee enquiry)???

2.Open a CV (Euro/local currency) account to access funds via cheque book/debit card.
(In my case, thinking i may be able to utilise my BES mortgage account with additional funds for this purpose was wrong.A new account is required.I am arranging this so its set up before i leave uk.

3.Go to Town Hall to pay property taxes
(Arrange future DD's for this purpose with new account)

4.Go to Electra for payment and future DD's

5.Find an outlet for furnishing the property ???
(New account in place if wanting to pay via this route)???
Tecnicil rang me yesterday and stated they were offering Euro 10.900 1.bedroom apartment package but bad line so they are phoning again.
Im not in the rental scheme so ???

6.Aircon installation

7.light fittings connected

8.Water filter unit installed

9.Fit mosquito blinds

10.Get TV DVD (i believe WIFI is sorted)

Are fire extinguishers, electrical adaptor plugs, hangers and other more minor things readily available ?????

It did also cross my mind
(i dont know if the rental scheme have one via Tecnicil)
concerning the compilation of a welcome/information pack that outlines the safe operating of all electrical items etc as well as places to go things to do.
I know ive struggled with some Aircon units in the past.

I know for some there are different languages to think of etc but just airing thoughts on this subject

Please add to the list and or give your thoughts as i sure im not alone in wanting to make sure that i dont miss anything out on my visit.

Cheers to all

Kind regards
Rich

Hi Rich,

If you have the Tecnicil aircon there is instructions for use in various languages, same with the electrical items cooker fridge etc. As far as I know there is no Tecnicil welcome pack as yet.

Small items like clothes hangers can be bought from the Chinese supermarket I bought quite a few of the wooden ones as they were more sturdy than the cheaper plastic ones. Not sure about fire extinguishers never saw those for sale but than again didn't really look.

Daniel, as a business owner who does not advertise on your forum am I allowed to help rich in relation to his questions? I respect the rules and would not like to be banned for a simple mistake?
