they have told me the same , however I told the solicitor to terminate contract several months ago, i am now having trouble getting A&M to reply to emails and are always in meetings when I try o call them. I have been offered a down grade on property but when you look at the prices being ask on their website, they are asking me to pay 40,000 euros more, i feel i am getting know where. the only person that can truly confirm if you are able to terminate are your solicitor, if you can get hold of them. Sorry not much help.

You can terminate your contract anytime up to signing the deeds. If your contract states the developer is in breach of contract. I'm sure your solicitor will confirm too. Although you may have to wait a while for money back.

If you have had some money back, and Tecincil are refusing to pay any more ,you can take them to court , without any arbitration clause .
Is anyone doing this ? it should be a quick case .

Quick case- six years instead of seven.
It was rumoured in the beginning that one or two got their money back, way back now though. Cheryl Baker was one and I'd imagine one or two other high profile people. I don't believe any of us commoners have had any joy.

More 4 showed that home or away program on Cape Verde again last night with Cherl Baker No mention about Tecncil's broken promises or contracts.Complete joke really. Surely they must have been informed
on the situation since it was first aired in 2007. forget polititions
getting involved Cherl Baker would do a better job shaming them
otherwise why would they pay her back so quickly? They did not want a famous name giving them bad press thats why.

New Vila Verde buyers beware. Some of the properties for sale have been partly paid for (e.g. 50%) by investors a few years ago. They are currently in dispute with the developer who is in breach of contract due to late delivery and sub-standard finish. According to the contract the investors are entitled to their money back. Could be a potential legal mine field.

Is there anyone thinking of using Lawbird to get money back from mri? They did con us into believing that tecncil were up to the job,not going to be in breach of contract, with a sub standard finish.
They were paid 15% up front, which should be given back.

Billyboy,
Yes, we appear to be in the same situation as you and would like to look into some way of recovering our deposit money. We too purchased through MRI. I dont's know if there is a site or email where we could all communicate. VVOG deals mainly with owners issues.

not sure if you´re aware but Tecnicil have won an arbitration case, so getting money back isn´t that easy
anyone on this forum who claims to have received money back is a liar - there have not been any deals
you should visit http://www.capeverdeportal.com
no one can contact their lawyers for an answer as to what they´re doing
