Hi Tony, Cape Verde Experience are a specialist operator in Cape Verde who use smaller hotels & guest houses on different islands. They can tailor your holiday to your needs as there are so many wonderful islands and they vary so much between islands. You can go online or request a brochure to see the islands & hotels they use.
Hope this helps

Hi Tony,

The very important question is, how much days/weeks do you have for your holidays on Cape Verde?
That might rule your plannings for your island hopping.

To visit more than one island and to enjoy it, you should have a fortnight for your stay there at least. :!:
Flights ought to be booked the earlier the better!
First decide, what are you expecting from the islands (only beaches or also hiking in the mountains, or to climb upon an active volcano), and then begin to book flights and little pensions.
There are numerous pensions on all islands.
I wish you a lot of beautiful days and interesting experiences. :)

My partner and I are going island hopping on Cape Verde in November, visiting Santiago, Sao Vicente, Sal, and Santo Antau. We have two weeks, so five nights each in Praia and Mindelo with a day trip to Santo Antau; then four nights on Sal. We booked everything through the Cape Verde Experience, who were very helpful and seem to have organised everything (if it works!). Their brochure has suggested itineraries, but basically they'll tailor make the trip for you, which is what we did. Most of the hotels in their brochure sound quite large, but apart from those on Sal they don't seem to be monster all-inclusives...and on Sal we requested a smaller place and they recommended one.

I have no idea yet whether I'd recommend the company so far as the trip goes; I'll let you know when I get back. But right now I'd be interested in hearing from any one else who's island-hopped as to how it went etc...or indeed anyone else who's planning this sort of trip.

Dear Helen,

I think my message went before I was finished. My email address is and it might be easier to send a copy of your itinerary to this address. This is the first time I have used a forum so not exactly sure how it works. Best, Joanne

Dear Helen,

It is me again. It appears my first message was not sent. My partner and I are planning to do a island hopping on Cape Verde at the end of the year. I have spent 2 days checking out itineraries and accommodations and when I read your message on this forum it sounds like you have chosen an itinerary and accommodations (not in large, luxury hotels) as we are looking at and I was wondering if you would share with us your itinerary which you have worked out with Cape Verde Experience before I am in touch with them. Best regards, joanne

Hi Joanne,

I came back here after a break, read your first message, and sent you an email before I read the second one. Feel free to answer my email and tell me what you'd like to know; I've given you a brief itinerary in the first email. I hope that makes sense!
