Hi,

I believe that TACV is starting weekly flights to Santiago from Manchester in April.

Hello again,

I have just seen, that Thomsonfly is already flying Sal and Boa Vista from Gatwick at very attractive prices - from 50 Pound one way ...

Best regards,

Daniel, Just checked that out. £921 for round trip- two people including meals and 1 bag each sitting together! not that cheap. Booking two one way flights to Sal and back looks like costing about £780? In their shop window yesterday they had b&b in Sal for £399 including flight early April.

daniel

these cheaper flights do come up now and then but we all can't be flexible with our dates,we need these prices all year round.
we are now down to just direct thompson flights, just the leftover seats from the package holidays so i think prices will stay high not fall

we need another carrier now not next november or whenever, monarch haven't even confirmed they will fly to cv

I'm going out to Sal tomorrow. What is the final answer on this, are there going to be direct flights to sal or not, just checked the website and it seems that the last flight is on the 24th of April, then what happens?

Daniel,

companies such as holiday options are still selling holidays on Boa Vista for May and June, who will they be using to fly people? Somebody other than the Italian flights must be going to Boa Vista? or are they going to route all their customers through Milan? or will they all have to change on to TACV or caboverde express on Sal?

Somebody must know what is happening?

JAK

If Monarch take over from Astraeus they will probably use their 757's, however I notice today that Thomson are also using First Choice on some of their flights. Have contacted First Choice but they say they have no immediate plans to start doing holidays in Cape Verde.[:(]

Just had a look on the Monarch site and there is no mention of flights to CV yet. Just had a good idea though.....why not bombard Easyjet with requests for flights to Sal highlighting the demand but the lack of seats available. £47 return including taxes[?][?][?]

THis is the reply I have had from Easyjet.[8D]
Dear Mr Cook,

Thank you for your email suggesting that we operate a route to Cape Verde Islands.

As you know, easyJet do not fly there at present but we are always grateful for comments and suggestions from our passengers and are constantly looking for routes that would be in demand all year round.

I would suggest that you register for easyJet e-mail updates on the easyJet web site. As well as advising of new routes, this will also give advance notice of the schedule release dates and information on exclusive Internet fare discounts.

Over to you all now. [;)]

By the way I don't work for Easyjet as some people do like to point fingers on here. I couldn't handle the salary increase !!![:p]

Maybe not Mike but its always worth a try. If there were enough comments about it on here it would be worth copying them and sending them to Easyjet by E Mail and who knows!! You might even get a response to your question as to whether anyone actually reads them....but then if they don't you won't will you...silly me[^]

Yes I believe First choice will start around the 9th may, you can check on their website. Monarch are due to start in November
There is due to be an open skies agreement through cape verde in 2/3 years so it will be interesting to see how TACV cope with this.

I have just recieved an E-mail informing me that Thomson and First Choice are merging, so I can not see any extra flights from that source. Mind you it could free up a few planes from routes that they have competed on up till now.

Cheers

Bernard
